Bianca Popola Greeting:
Hello, parents and happy Friday! Let's start off our morning by watching the Dolvin News Splash. You can do so by clicking here.
We have officially made it through week 3 of Digital Learning! Thank you for your dedication to helping your child be successful in his/her learning. I am so proud of how hard all of the students have been working! As much as I want to start this day on a high note, I do want to acknowledge the decision made by Governor Kemp regarding the remainder of the school year. As you likely already know, we will continue Digital Learning through the last day of school for the 19-20 school year. As heartbroken as I am (most DEFINITELY have shed some tears over this...) I want to remain positive, strong, and want to make the most out of the remaining time together in 1st grade! If there is anything that I can do at all to make this situation easier for you and your family, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am your biggest cheerleader and want to make this the best experience possible! I'm here for YOU! Furthermore, if your child is struggling digesting this situation or if you need assistance discussing COVID-19 with your child, I found this wonderful story written by Ana M. Gomez and illustrated by Sergio Aguirre titled The Story of the Oyster and the Butterfly: The Corona Virus and Me. I've embedded it below and have included the hyperlink here in case you'd like to download it.
Also - happy *almost* spring break (Monday, 4/6 - Friday, 4/10). I hope you're able to kick your feet up and take a much needed and well-deserved BREAK!

If the Teacher Assigned lesson is not appearing upon logging into iReady, please encourage your child to complete 30 minutes of lessons on his/her path. Next week's optional activities:
Since I will not be sending a Weekly Update on Sunday, I am sharing a list of optional activities for your child to participate in over the vacation! This means that your child will not be evaluated on any of these activities.
Video Chat:
As you know, spring break is next week, April 6 - 10; therefore, students are not required to complete any school work. As a result, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to connect via video chat with each of the children. If your child is interested, please find a time that works well for your family on this Sign-Up Genius. When signing up, please follow the below directions:
I look forward to connecting with you and your child next week!
Seesaw Activities:
I will release some optional Seesaw activities for your child to complete over spring break, if he/she is interested. These are by no means being evaluated - just to occupy some of their time, if interested! They can check back throughout the course of the week to view the different activities that I will release.
Spring Break Photo Padlet:
As another fun way for students to connect, I made this Padlet where students can share photos of any spring break adventures! I understand most of us are staying in town; however, I am sure the week will still be full of fun adventures! Please follow these directions:

Have a phenomenal spring break!
