greeting:
Good morning, parents, and happy national Star Wars day! How are YOU celebrating?
I hope you had a phenomenal weekend! The weather was beautiful and I hope that you got to take FULL advantage by spending lots of time outside! Let's kick off our morning by watching the Dolvin News Splash! You can do so by clicking here. Today's optional resources & activities:
Main Idea Teams Help Session:
Main idea is another concept that I know can be slightly tricky, especially since we aren't reading texts together, in-person, and working to determine the main topic and finding details that support it; therefore, I am setting up an optional Teams meeting TODAY to review Main Idea! Just before 11 am, please be on the lookout for an email with a Teams Meeting link. This (in addition to a device with a camera and microphone) is all that your child will need to join. The meeting will run from 11-11:30. Please review these expectations with your child:
Since there are only 4 children on the screen at a time, please encourage your child to type any questions he/she has in the chat box. That way, I can ensure that it gets answered! Since I can't see everyone, it is very easy to miss a raised hand.
Balanced Literacy:
To assist your child with his/her daily tasks, here is today's PowerPoint about genres.
Advanced Math:
To assist your child with his/her daily tasks, here is today's PowerPoint about reviewing time.
Accelerated Math:
To assist your child with his/her tasks this week, here is this week's PowerPoint introducing new concepts related to multiplication/repeated addition narrated by Mrs. Keller.
Other:
Please join us in celebrating the last 26 days of school by participating in some fun at-home activities! Make sure to Tweet a photo of your child celebrating the letter "L" and add the #DolvinGoesDigital and #FCSrising and tag me at @MsPopola. I've added a fun "May the 4th Be With You" choice board to Seesaw as an optional activity! This may be fun for your child if he/she is a Star Wars Lover! today's Required Activities:
Just a friendly reminder that students are still expected to complete 30 minutes of ELA practice and 30 minutes of math a day. You can find the daily assignments by visiting our Digital Learning website and downloading the choice boards from the above website from the "Choice Boards" tab. Again this week, there are links highlighted in blue to direct you to resources. Please be sure to download the PDF (attached on the "Choice Board" tab), hover your mouse over the blue phrases, and click. A new tab should open with the linked resource.
